But in trying to live these values, we struggled, finding ourselves distracted by the urgency of our notification-driven culture and trapped by the idea of living up to someone else’s definition of success.Over the years, it became clear to us that living with intention and reflection is an ongoing practice, not a destination. This was the seed that started the Holstee Membership.We created the Holstee Membership to be a constant reminder to live fully and mindfully.We are a distributed team with people currently based in California, Texas, the Dominican Republic, and the Netherlands.We¡¯re on this journey together.There is a lot of ¡°we¡± talk on this page ¡ª that ¡°we¡± is us! We¡¯re brothers and the co-founders of Holstee. We started Holstee in 2009 as a t-shirt company focused on the social and environmental impacts of production ¡ª an extension of our true desire to live both fully (do something we are passionate about!) and mindfully (be aware of our impact on the world around us). We never could have guessed that our journey would lead us on this wild path of learning and self-discovery, but we are so happy it has.There are a lot of companies and people promising a silver bullet solution to all your ¡°problems¡±. This isn¡¯t that. We¡¯re just normal people striving to live well and sharing what we¡¯ve learned. We don¡¯t have all the answers, but we¡¯re committed to asking the questions and doing the work. And like you, and the thousands of people in our community, we¡¯re also on this journey.
